For construction companies it provides an opportunity to quickly source high-quality candidates to ensure projects demands are met.
During times of economic uncertainty and tentative business times, there are a lot of things we can’t control. During this particularly volatile time, our teams have seen more companies turning to labour hire workers to meet short-term workloads and reduce overhead costs.
Labour Hire employees only work on specified projects or for specific hours, they are only paid for the time they have worked, or until the project is completed. For this reason it is also a cost effective method of recruitment.
There are numerous reasons why taking on staff to fill temporary positions and projects, makes sound business sense during unpredictable times.

Try before you buy
Rather than pumping time and money into recruiting and training a permanent member of staff, only to realise the individual is unsuitable for the position, taking on labour hire staff enables you to determine their suitability.
In today’s highly competitive, candidate-driven job market, finding and hiring the ideal candidate cab be a challenge. Labour hire allows you to bring in talent on an as-needed basis, allowing you to work with various skillsets and create the solution that works best to ensure you projects goals are met. The cost of a bad hire on a company can be very damaging and you can learn more about this by reading one of our previous blog posts.

Cost-effective method of recruitment‍
During uncertain times, businesses of all industries and sizes need to ‘tighten their belts’ to remain competitive and keep afloat.Labour hire is totally flexible, so you can engage new staff at peak times or at short notice to ensure you meet deadlines. A major benefit of using Labour hire is that you can scale down your workforce during the quieter periods, once the project is complete or work starts to slow down. A flexible workforce reduces the risk of budget blowouts and increases business profits.

Meeting short-term workloads
Labour hire agencies exist to provide an efficient service at the drop of a hat, this means quick placements and fast responses to all your requests. When hard times hit, hiring temporary staff provides the ideal solution to bringing in short-term business support.

Specialist skillsets
Having worked in various places and often different industries, labour hire staff possess a diverse skillset. As such they may possess a certain skill or attribute that you are lacking in your current workforce. Taking on labour hire is an effective way to bridge skills gaps, which is especially advantageous during times of uncertainty.
